This morning, I was at Edinburgh airport on the way to London. With a bit of time to spare, I checked out Dixons, to see what might be fun and cool. I also wanted to see how much discount they were offering on iPods as Lucy's angling for one for her birthday.

The store was full of iPod accessories - speakers, headphones, media recorders, cases - but no actual iPods. I asked the staff, and they were all out of stock. Not really a surprise, as it's just post Christmas. But I asked when they'd be restocking, and they only gave me info for the 40GB model; they weren't expecting any 20GB stock in. Ever.

So it looks like we're going to get iPod capacity bumps at MWE - presumably the 40GB model will be the base one, and they'll announce the rumoured 80GB one, with these Toshiba drives.

I wonder if the U2 iPod was just a cunning way of clearing inventory...
